Moving weblog from Radio Userland to Movabletype

I imported all of my posts from my Radio Userland site and they are being displayed in the monthly archives, but the latest posts are not on the main index page. I’m adding this post to see if it shows up on the index page. (* I needed to change the number of past days entries to display on the home page to a larger number. I had not posted in the last 7 days so the new post displayed, but none of the older posts. When I changed the value, it fixed the issue.)

I decided to do away with the categories on my site. I have not been using them and with the search feature built into MoveableType I’ll be able to find entries much easier.

I am hosting this site at HostingMatters and so far I have been very pleased with their service and their packages. I’m still waiting on shell access, but I suspect that will be setup soon. Installing Moveabletype went fairly smoothly. For some reason a few files did not ftp over to the server so I had to track them down based on the error messages I received in MT. Once I uploaded them no more problems.

I plan on adding a wiki and HostingMatters offers phpwiki. I have been keeping notes on my laptop with EmacsWiki and I might just stick to that, but if I want others to participate, I’ll have to move to another wiki.

To do:
1. Hook up NewsGator to post to this weblog
2. Investigate the same via Emacs
3. Work on some php for image rotation and galleries
