I was sitting in O’Hare yesterday waiting for my flight to New York and I saw this guy that looked a lot like Ross Mayfield of Socialtext. I plowed through some email then started reading news in Google Reader and ran across a post by Ross stating that he was attending a Kellogg technology conference at Northwestern.
I figured he might be using Twitter and sure enough he had a Twitter sidebar confirming my suspicions. I have to say I felt like I was stalking the guy. We met a few years ago at an eContent conference in Scottsdale so I introduced myself and had a chance to catch up with him on Socialtext and how they have been doing in the marketplace. I have always liked Socialtext as a company given that they legitimized my early interest in wikis.
I have not jumped on the Twitter bandwagon yet, but I’m interested and follow developments around that product. I have played around with Radar, a service that allows you to post photos from your phone similar to short “tweets?” on Twitter.
