If you are planning on moving to Chicago or are looking for someone to move you within the Chicago area, DO NOT hire The Dependable Chicago Moving Company.
We recently moved from Indiana to Chicago and I needed someone to help me unload the truck once I arrived in Chicago. My landlord used The Dependable Chicago Moving Company and had a good experience so I thought I would give them a try.
I set up the move with Frank Gomez, the owner of the company, for the Tuesday after Labor day. Three guys showed up ready to work and I was happy with their services.
But, when the guy unloading the truck was getting our dining room chairs down from the shelf in the truck, two of them fell to the truck floor. One of the chairs cracked completely and the other’s seat was knocked off of the frame.
The guys told me what happened and I asked them what the procedure was at The Dependable Chicago Moving Company for dealing with damaged goods. They said they were insured and I had to deal with Frank Gomez to resolve the issue.
I paid the moving bill in full and then started calling Frank Gomez of The Dependable Chicago Moving Company and he has yet to return my call. I call him about twice a week and leave a message, but I still have not heard from Frank.
So much for being dependable. We’re talking JC Penney’s chairs here not some antiques. The total cost to replace two chairs is $160.
I guess my patience is wearing thin. Frank, if you read this and would like to give me a call and resolve the issue, I’ll be glad to post a positive review of your company here and let folks know that they can depend on you if they are looking to move to Chicago. Otherwise, I can’ recommend your services to anyone.
