On Saturday my wife and daughter kicked me and my youngest son, Aaron Fioritto, out of the house for the day so they could study for tests.
We started off at the guitar store where Aaron played with a bank of special effects pedals and various electric guitars. We’re pricing out an amp for his acoustic guitar, but I think I’ll try and delay that purchase for as long as possible; plus my garage is full. No room for any garage bands in this house.
Afterwards we went to see Coach Carter and graded it a B, agreeing with most of the reviewers out there.
After the movie we were off to the Apple store on Michigan Avenue. The hit of the evening were the large flat panel displays. They had one setup that included two 30-inch cinema displays side-by-side. Pretty stunning stuff.
Aaron posted to his blog and uploaded a photo from one of the laptops configured with an iSight camera. We used to be a Mac based house but over the years we migrated to Windows and Linux. Apple continues to produce beautiful hardware and their iLife software package is well done.
We capped off the day with dinner at Blackie’s, a Chicago hamburger joint.
